We at KERBHOLZ design minimalist accessories made from sustainable materials. We create environmentally friendly everyday design products for modern people.
Our design is inspired by the principles of the Bauhaus school and industrial designer Dieter Rams. As he is a good german 'Kartoffel' he wrote his design principles down and we chose 4 of them to follow:

The KERBHOLZ design is inspired by the Bauhaus school principles: minimalist and simple looks that make the products wearable, modern and long-lasting at the same time. KERBHOLZ design is minimal form for maximum effect.
Through simple design language, the products highlight colour, grain and unobstrusive value of the natural materials. These special materials make every KERBHOLZ products a unique piece, with no two models looking the same.

The modularity of our watches guarantees simple adjustments allowing each wrist to be decorated with a KERBHOLZ. The simplicity of our interior selection makes every product a good fit for your home. Wood and acetate are combined in our sunglasses for a maximum of stability.
All products are characterized by their light weight, the high wearing comfort and their unconventionality.

For us, good design moreover means to regard the conservation of resources as an essential part of our design process. We use innovative materials from renewable resources and high quality Ronda Quartz watch mechanisms.
Good design makes products long-lasting and reduces environmental pollution during production and disposal.

The KERBHOLZ design is "Made in Germany" since all the important design steps take place in our headquarter in Cologne. Therefore, you can be sure that every idea is developed in a team effort to become a KERBHOLZ product.
Every watch, every pair of glasses, every piece of jewellery and every interior item for your home has been designed, discussed, dismissed and revised - until everyone is satisfied.

For our KERBHOLZ watches we exclusively use natural wood, which is sealed in a special way. The longer you wear your product, the more individual its patina gets.
Our glasses and sunglasses are out of up to 15 layers of FSC-certified wood veneer. But we also use slate or acetate for a valuable and special look. All products are characterized by their light weight, the high wearing comfort and their unconventionality.

For this approach, we have received some awards in the last few years, such as the Red Dot Design Award the German Design Award and in 2020 our UFO CLOKK won the Iconic Awards.
We are happy about this, but awards are not our motivation to design minimalistic and modern products. We design products for people. For natural, modern, individual and special people.
And that's exactly how their accessories should be.
